"I recently completed the Level One Teacher Training Course with Harijiwan Singh (lead teacher). Harijiwan was very ably assisted by Tej Kaur and Erin McKeever. I found this course was comprehensive, challenging and in the end very gratifying. I am very confident that I was given all the tools that I need to teach Kundalini Yoga -- as taught by Yogi Bhajan.
In this course, the student is not only given a tremendous amount of information, but there were practical exercises as well, which included learning the techniques of playing the gong. The course also involved doing a tremendous amount of Kundalini Yoga and meditation, which was invaluable in getting the student deep into the discipline. Every question I could think of was answered. And I asked a lot of questions.
Further, I found this course to be very challenging on many levels -- mentally and spiritually as well as the physical. You are forced to dig deep into yourself to squarely address and clear away personal issues and blocks that keep us from having the true experience of the self. By doing this, we can become more effective teachers and better human beings.
Even if the individual isn't inclined to be a teacher of Kundalini Yoga, the course is still invaluable if you want to deepen your practice to an extent that you couldn't do under ordinary circumstances.
All of the teaching was done with passion for the practice, faithfulness to the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, good humor and care for the student.
The venue where we attended classes -- Sage Hills Yoga in Cedar City, UT -- was a comfortable and roomy place. The owner of the studio, Melanie, constantly went out of her way -- above and beyond the call of duty -- to make sure all of us were well taken care of during the weekend sessions. She also hosted the graduation party in her home, which included a catered meal with family and friends in attendance.
I highly recommend this course to anyone who's thinking about teacher training."
